The MOMS Club of Octorara Area provides a great opportunity to meet other moms who are home during the day. Children also benefit from a variety of fun social activities. Each month the MOMS Club of Octorara Area plans a calendar full of engaging activities for the moms, their children and the entire family.  Below are some of the fun and exciting things we do...

HOST-AN-HOUR ACTIVITIES

Several times a month, members open their homes for an hour of themed or free play activities. Some of our most well attended activities include: Noon-Year’s Eve, Valentine’s Day Dance, holiday crafts, recipe exchanges, take-and-bakes, and pajama day.

MOMS NIGHT OUT

Once a month an evening activity is scheduled just for moms (Nursing infants are always welcome too). This past year some of our “MNO” events have included: dinner and a movie, game night, roasting marshmallows, a local ghost tour, belly dancing and a well-attended salon night!

MONTHLY SOCIALS

During our monthly socials, members have a chance to gather in one location and learn about club news and vote on club business such as: finances, activities and membership info. In addition, our chapter offers Open House events twice a year to reach out to other moms in the community who may need support. This is also another opportunity for the kiddos to get together for a craft, games, snack and/or free play.

 WEEKLY ACTIVITIES

We offer activities that consist of “Walk-n-Talks”, Host-An-Hours, Park Playdates, Library activities such as Story-time and Mommy-n-Me music, as well as local tours of the Post Office, Police Station, Pizza restaurant, Herr’s factory and so MUCH more!

HOMESCHOOL ACTIVITY GROUP

Our members who choose to home school their children meet one morning each week for structured academic enrichment and unstructured social time.  We schedule parent-taught classes in two-month blocks, so that every parent gets a break from teaching.  Our topics so far have included "Classy Snacks" (health & etiquette), "Crafty Science," "Introduction to Spanish Cultures," and "Art Around the World," in addition to various cost-conscious field trips.  We moms also help each other connect with other homeschooling resources in the rural Chester County area.  Families with all ages of children are welcome to participate.
